You can also decide to delete your account if you want. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to deactivate or delete your Facebook account on both desktop and mobile app.
Deactivating Facebook on Mobile App
NOTE: Facebook's design changes from time to time, so it's essential to note the changes when they occur.
1. Open the App: Launch the Facebook app on your iPhone or Android device.
2. Menu Button: Tap the three horizontal lines on the top right corner of the app to access the menu. Typically, your profile image is embedded in this button.
3. Settings & Privacy: Scroll down and tap "Settings & Privacy," followed by "Settings."
4. Personal Details: Navigate to "Personal Details" under Accounts Centre and then select "Personal Details" again.
5. Account Ownership and Control: Navigate to "Account Ownership and Control" and tap on it.
6. Deactivate Account: Choose "Deactivate or deletion" and follow the on-screen prompts. Choose the account you want to deactivate or delete. You'll likely be asked to confirm your password before your account is deactivated or deleted.

Deactivating Facebook on Desktop
1. Log in to Facebook: Go to https://www.facebook.com/login/ and sign in to your account with your username or email address and password.
2. Access Settings: Click the downward arrow in the top-right corner of the Facebook homepage. From the dropdown menu, select "Settings & Privacy" and then "Settings."
3. Your Facebook Information: In the left-hand menu, navigate to "Your Facebook Information" and click on "Deactivation and Deletion."

What to Expect After Deactivating
