Production for the high-end and exceptionally sleek Cadillac Celestiq is set to commence in December. Cadillac has disclosed that the manufacturing of the Celestiq will be predominantly done by hand, with a modest rate of 1.2 cars per day.
This translates to an annual production of less than 500 units, and deliveries are slated to begin in the spring of 2024. Due to the "extremely high demand" for the Celestiq, those who haven't secured a reservation may face a considerable wait before receiving their vehicles.
Built on General Motors' Ultium EV platform and battery technology, the Celestiq boasts 600 horsepower and is equipped with a 111-kWh battery expected to provide around 300 miles of range. With support for charging at up to 200 kW, owners can add 80 miles of range in just 10 minutes using a DC fast charger.
The Celestiq will feature a plethora of technology, either as standard or optional, including a striking 55.0-inch dash-wide digital display, a four-panel glass roof allowing individual transparency settings, a premium 38-speaker AKG sound system, and the inaugural implementation of GM's Ultra Cruise automated driver-assist feature, promising functionality on 95% of U.S. roads.
